Opinno creates the first intelligent building in Spain mobile application.

Opinno has created the first intelligent building of Spain, custom built by Axiare real estate, whose users can control a portfolio of services such as office rental, food service, gym reservation, electric bike reservation, car sharing, parking, creation of visitor passes, access control, and even a virtual wallet that allows payment within the enclosure all by means of a mobile app.

This building, the Virto building located in Alcobendas Madrid, is a clear example of how the development of the internet and its application to our daily life, the Internet of Things, is revolutionizing the markets and change axioms that seemed immovable, like when real estate agents were asked the most decisive elements in the valuation of a property, to which they said: location, location, location.

Rather, the technological benefits of the buildings have become a distinctive value, and that is why Axiare, a heritage manager specializing in the purchase of buildings, which quotes in stock exchange and manages assets for more than 1.3 billion euros (market prices at the end of 2016), commissioned Opinno to create a mobile application to manage its Virto property.

In addition to the mobile application created by Opinno, Virto will allow its users to manage day to day tasks in the office through use of touch screens, voice commands, and gestural control detectors in the building itself.

A creative safari at the user’s service

To create the application, Oppino defined the archetypes of the different users of the building: employees, security guards, cleaning staff, etc.

Later, through in-depth interview, safaris and shadowings (the last two are techniques of observation, data collection, and analysis on how the user applies the software in its real context), identified the need for the technology to satisfy, thus generating an experience that would flow easily when users applied the technology to their day to day experience in the building.

Taking into account the detected needs, Opinno and the Axiare innovation lab jointly created the list of services that the building would be able to provide.

Once these priorities were defined, they contacted the different providers of the services to design the flow of user experience by incorporating the services. In addition, they created an integration strategy of the different technologies that already existed in the building with the new technologies of the different providers.

Then, several prototypes of the services were made and tested with different groups to achieve a mobile application that comprised the necessary technology and reached optimal usability. 
Ultimately, the Opinno team incorporated the user feedback and programmed the software necessary for the integral management of services through the mobile application.
