Intelligence (AI), automotive learning, cloud, data analysis, and internet of Things (IoT) are some of the most commonly appeared in the vocabulary of SAP CEO España, Rafael Brugnini. The veteran technológico giant no longer focuses his business in what was once his flagship product: enterprise resource management software. Instead, the company has diversified its product catálogo to help companies adopt all these technologies.

But in order for them to integrate with éxito, Brugnini believes they must be captained by a CEO willing to change course. The manager says, “You have to try and if it doesn't work, we'll have learned something.” He acknowledges that “when you are; used to controlling everything, opening yourself up to experimentation can be complicated.” However, it defends the importance of líderes set an example and promote change.

Cada año, MIT Technology Review publishes a list of the 10 technologías with the greatest potentialto change the world. The list of this año lists theconversational assistants of artificial intelligence. Has SAP integrated these systems into the products it offers customers?

This technology is being incorporated; starting to embark on the main business processes to facilitate the inter-action with the human being and automate all repetitive tasks. In this way, you can use all the capacity and knowledge that people in the company have in tasks that generate more value.

In the case of these conversational assistants, we have incorporated this technology as a result of the purchasing of a company;ía [Recast.AI], which allows employees to interact with the voice with Siri and Alexa to ask what; tasks they have to perform that day, ask them to send them a report and also receive recommendations.

On the great technological trends that SAP has integrated is big data, since it offers analytic business tools. ¿Cómo has adapted the company to the age of data?

We defend the concept of a smart company, one that maximizes the use of data for your benefit and that of your customers. But software companies have bombarded customers with technology in the últimos años. Today in día, there are many Frankensteins created by different technologies from different suppliers and we are seeing cómo we can simplify this so that everything is integrated and there is no need to train a person in 18 different technologies.

In the analítica part we not only want to manage the data generated by SAP systems, but also by all the systems of the company and have a única versión of the data. That's why we offer the ability to have our data architecture without requiring our applications.

The solution in the world of data is; being possible thanks to the Internet of Things, which give us access to unprecedented information. SAP makes it easier for companies to draw conclusions from data from those connected devices. ¿In what way are you helping; helping that knowledge?

We are seeing cases where, in order to apply the technology, new business models emerge. For example, we started working on the sensorization of an air compressor manufacturer in Germany. At first you wanted to perform predictive maintenance, that is, anticipate failure before it happened. But they didn't stay there, but they wondered, “¿Cómo we mix IoT information with the entire supply chain?”

They started playing with automatic learning to optimize the service and realized that they could get so in control that, instead of offering traditional compressors as products, they could sell air as a service, as a service, and that the customer pays a monthly fee.

Another exampleis a Chinese shoe manufacturing company.As more and more personalized products are demanded, they scan your foot and with virtual reality you can select colors, models, etcétera. In seven days you return to the store and you have a shoe that fits you perfectly because the entire supply chain is connected and the process is automated.nbsp;

The IoT generates a lot of device data, but now it is also a trend in vogue the analysis of people, a discipline that studies data on employee behavior. ¿Están offer to its customers already?

In recruitment, we are using artificial intelligence to match the curríasses with the profile you are looking for. We help companies write job offer descriptions so they really reflect what they need.

On the other hand, it is also very important to measure the experience of employees.Qualtrics[a platform specialized in the management of experience data, which SAP acquired a few months ago for about 7.3 billion euros] allows employees to take the temperature in real time so that they can react quickly. In fact, we offer the service in two áreas, that of human resources and that of customer experience.

¿Cómo helps companies;ías they know how employees feel at all times?

On the one hand, the new generations think totally differently and are much more mobile. Previously it was valued to be in a large company, stability, career making, etcétera. Now, they feel little less than a phobia of big business: when you do an interview, you're asked about schedule, flexibility, corporate social responsibility, workspace, vacation, job propó Employees are more risky, more entrepreneurial. If you take their temperature, you have more ability to react and retain.

On the other hand, if workers are happy, we better serve customers, bill more and are more profitable. There is a direct impact between employee happiness and business éxito. The innovation is; listening to your customers and employees.
