Innovators Under 35 LATAM 2023: Meet the 35 most innovative young people in Latin America

The innovation consultancy Opinno and MIT Technology Review en español have announced the winners of the ninth edition of the Innovators Under 35 LATAM 2023 (IU35 LATAM) awards, a recognition of young people under 35 who use science and technology to solve urgent issues in Latin America. In this new edition, the young innovators stood out in various fields, ranging from nanotechnology to artificial intelligence.


The list of Innovators Under 35 LATAM 2023 has been selected by an International Jury Committee and is made up of innovators from Argentina (six winners), Bolivia (one winner), Brazil (two winners), Chile (two winners), Colombia (five winners), Ecuador (three winners), Mexico (six winners), Venezuela (two winners) and Peru (eight winners).


"The 35 recognized young people are a permanent reminder of the effort, talent, and dedication in Latin America. We are committed to the development and progress of this region, which boasts entrepreneurs and business owners whose focus is to promote and support innovation. Through IU35 LATAM, we seek to decentralize, democratize, and foster the transfer of knowledge and technologies with the aim of attracting and highlighting the innovative talent of the region," stated Pedro Mateos, Director of Innovators Under 35 LATAM at MIT Technology Review en español.

This year, the 9th edition of the Innovators Under 35 LATAM awards is sponsored by Grupo UNACEM, Repsol, Grupo Intercorp, PwC Peru and Redinter - Elewit, in addition to allied collaborating entities such as ESAN, Promperú (Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism), Jockey Plaza and the newspaper El Comercio as Media Partner.

The awarded young people excel in innovation areas covering biotechnology and medicine, artificial intelligence and robotics, software, energy and sustainability, internet and web, electronics and hardware, transportation, nanotechnology and materials, as well as telecommunications.
