Madrid, April 8th 2021.- Desafía San Francisco, an initiative promoted by ICEX and Red.es, has supported ten Spanish technology start-ups through its Remote Immersion Programme.

The programme consisted of two weeks of online workshops that took place from 15th to 26th March. Companies had the opportunity to interact with experts in investment, law, public speaking, marketing, entrepreneurship, business development and strategy, as well as with successful Spanish entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley.

The ten participating startups, Connectif.ai, Forest Chain, Froged, Kronte, Linc, Meyo, Nymiz, Planet Dataset, Suscrip, and TalentUp were advised by investors and experts from Silicon Valley to study their product's place in the market, as well as to plan their entry and expansion into the United States. They have also been taught the best practices used by Silicon Valley companies to grow exponentially and scale globally.

These are some examples of participating companies’ testimonials:

Andrea de Palma, CEO and Co-founder of Connectif, comments that "the programme has been an approach to the VC world and to the reality of Silicon Valley which exceeds expectations, providing practical lessons on the dynamics of funding, sales and marketing. An insight into a startup's immediate future that can be implemented today. It is so important for entrepreneurship to benefit from these programmes that open the way to possibilities that exist outside of our current environment, so that we too can measure, evaluate, recalibrate and keep dreaming big.”

For Oscar Villanueva, Co-founder and CEO of Nymiz, it was "One of the best programmes, with the best feedback and the best speakers, real entrepreneurs who have sold their companies in the USA, VCs from the USA, in short, brilliant!"

According to Victor Gentile, Co-CEO and Co-founder of Planet Dataset, "The Desafía San Francisco team has managed to combine, in just 2 weeks, all the vital aspects of a scaling startup with a different, unique and totally practical approach. The workshops and the professionals who accompanied us during the course were impressive and it was a pleasure to share our time with them".

Desafía San Francisco will be launching a new edition in autumn 2021. All the information about the initiative is available at https://www.sanfrancisco.desafia.gob.es/

More than 100 Spanish technology companies have participated in previous editions of the Programme. The portfolio of companies has created more than 3,000 jobs and raised more than $230 million in capital. The average investment is $1.45 million from the most prestigious venture capital firms and accelerators in the industry.
