Open Innovation - Why do it?

Despite being a relatively modern term (it was born in the early 2000s), open innovation has meant a change of business paradigm in an environment that was very closed, unfriendly to change and collaboration with external agents. The traditional model based on internal innovation to stand out from the competition moved to a new scheme where collaboration and open doors showed that innovation could be easier and more collaborative between companies, thus seeking the benefit for all.
